Starter Sites Import Guide

Open Starter Sites

In the WordPress dashboard, go to VH360 Theme → Starter Sites.

This screen is used to browse available starter demos and import a selected demo into the current WordPress site.

Refresh the Demo List

Use the refresh option on the Starter Sites screen if the demo list does not appear or if you recently added new demo packages to the demo registry.

The demo list comes from the configured starter-sites registry. If the registry cannot be reached, the screen may not show available demos.

Review a Demo Before Importing

Before importing, review the demo card carefully.

Check the demo name, preview information, and any listed requirements. The importer uses each demo package to bring in demo content and related setup data.

Import a Starter Site

1. Go to VH360 Theme → Starter Sites.
2. Choose the starter site you want to import.
3. Start the import from the demo card.
4. Allow the import process to finish.
5. Review the import result message.

Do not close the page while the import is running.

What the Import Can Set Up

A starter site package can include demo content, menus, widgets, Customizer settings, theme options, and Elementor site kit data when those items are included in the selected package.

The exact imported content depends on the selected demo package.

Check the Site After Import

After the import finishes, review these areas:

1. Pages — confirm the expected pages were created.
2. Appearance → Menus — confirm the correct menus are assigned to the correct menu locations.
3. Settings → Reading — confirm the homepage and posts page are set correctly.
4. VH360 Theme settings — confirm imported theme options are correct.
5. Appearance → Customize — confirm imported Customizer settings look correct.

Troubleshooting

The demo list does not load

Refresh the demo list from the Starter Sites screen. If it still does not load, confirm the site can reach the configured demo registry URL.

The import stops because a required plugin is missing

Install and activate the plugin listed in the import message, then run the import again.

The imported menu is not showing correctly

Go to Appearance → Menus, select the imported menu, and assign it to the correct menu location.

Demo links still point to the demo site

Review imported menus and page links. Update any custom links that still point to the demo domain.
