Scenes, Preview, Program, and Transitions

Scenes

A Scene button represents a source that can be staged in Preview. Studio begins with a primary camera scene. Additional sources can be added with the Scenes plus control.

Preview

Preview is the staging monitor. Selecting a scene changes Preview without immediately changing what viewers see. Media Controls apply to the selected media source in Preview.

Program

Program is the live/recorded composed output. Send the staged Preview source to Program with a transition. Program remains on its current source until a Cut/Fade or other supported Program action changes it.

Transitions

• Cut changes Program immediately.
• Fade transitions over the selected Duration.

Confirm Preview before taking a source live. During a recording or broadcast, removing a source that is protected because it is active in Program can be blocked.

Resizable Workspace

Scenes, Sources, Audio Mixer, Stream Controls, and Overlays have resizable or collapsible workspace controls. Studio remembers supported local workspace preferences. Resizing panels does not change the 16:9 Program output.
