Studio Interactive Recording
Studio Interactive Session Recording
Use Record Session on the public viewer page of an active Studio interactive livestream to record the full participant session.
This is separate from recording the Program output inside Production Studio.
Recording Availability
Record Session is available only when:
- The livestream was started through Studio.
- The livestream is in interactive mode.
- The livestream is currently active.
- The current user is the livestream owner, an authorized editor, or an administrator.
- No other session recording is active for the same livestream.
The control is intended for a supported desktop browser.
What Is Recorded
The recording includes:
- The interactive session composition
- Host and participant video
- Participant names and available status labels
- Camera-off or audio-only placeholders
- Layout and participant changes
- Mixed participant audio
The recording uses the selected Studio live quality preset.
Start Recording
- Open the public viewer page for the active interactive livestream.
- Confirm all expected participants are visible and audible.
- Select Record Session.
- Wait for the recording status to confirm that recording has started.
A visible REC notice informs participants that the session is being recorded.
Only one active recording can run for the livestream.
During Recording
Keep the recording page open and active.
The recording reacts to:
- Participants joining or leaving
- Camera changes
- Audio publishing changes
- Layout changes
- Focus or speaker changes
Use headphones when participant audio is enabled to reduce echo or feedback.
Stop Recording
- Select the recording control again.
- Confirm the recording is stopping.
- Keep the page open while the recording uploads.
- Wait for the status to move through Uploading and Processing.
Do not close the browser while the recording is stopping or uploading.
Replay Publishing
The completed recording is sent to the configured Default video storage provider.
When processing finishes:
- The original livestream post becomes the replay.
- The livestream page updates to the replay state.
- The replay uses the provider playback information returned by Studio.
Recording States
The viewer can display states such as:
- Starting
- Recording
- Stopping
- Uploading
- Processing
- Replay Ready
- Failed
- Retry
Interrupted Recording Recovery
If the browser closes, reloads, crashes, or loses connection:
- Reopen the livestream page.
- Check whether an active recording session is detected.
- Follow the recovery or resume instructions shown by the player.
- Retry failed upload chunks when that option is available.
Do not start a second recording from another tab while recovery is in progress.
Active Recording in Another Tab
If another tab or browser already controls the recording:
- Return to the tab that started it.
- Stop or complete the recording there.
- Do not force a second recording session.
VideoHub360 prevents duplicate active recordings for the same livestream.
Test the Recording Workflow
- Start a short Studio interactive livestream.
- Join with a second participant.
- Open the public viewer page as the livestream owner.
- Start Record Session.
- Speak from both devices and change the participant layout.
- Stop the recording.
- Wait for Uploading and Processing to finish.
- Confirm the original livestream post plays the replay.
- Confirm both participant video and audio are present.
