Widgets Guide

This guide explains the widget areas and widget options available for your site.

Widget Areas

Go to Appearance → Widgets to add widgets to the available widget areas.

The theme includes these widget areas:

  • Sidebar — the legacy main sidebar. This is kept for compatibility.
  • Page Sidebar — used for page sidebar content.
  • Post Sidebar — used for blog post sidebar content.
  • Product Sidebar — used for WooCommerce product page sidebar content when WooCommerce is active.
  • Footer 1 — footer column 1.
  • Footer 2 — footer column 2.
  • Footer 3 — footer column 3.
  • Footer 4 — footer column 4.
  • Activity Feed Sidebar — custom widgets shown in the right sidebar of the Activity Feed template.

Page, Post, and Archive Sidebars

The site can display different sidebars for different content types.

The main configurable sidebar areas are:

  • Page Sidebar for regular pages.
  • Post Sidebar for blog posts.
  • Sidebar for archive pages.
  • Product Sidebar for WooCommerce product pages when WooCommerce is active.

To control which sidebar appears by default, go to:

Appearance → Customize → Layout / Sidebar

From there, you can choose the default sidebar layout and sidebar area for pages, posts, products, and archives.

Available layout choices are:

  • No Sidebar
  • Left Sidebar
  • Right Sidebar

Footer Widgets

The footer supports four widget columns:

  • Footer 1
  • Footer 2
  • Footer 3
  • Footer 4

To add footer content:

  1. Go to Appearance → Widgets.
  2. Open one of the Footer widget areas.
  3. Add the content you want displayed in that footer column.
  4. Save your changes.
  5. Check the site footer on the frontend.

Footer widgets only appear when at least one footer widget area has active content.

  • Show Ad Space

The Show Who to Follow option displays recommended users in the Activity Feed sidebar. The Show Ad Space option enables the Activity Feed ad slot.

Troubleshooting

A widget does not appear on the frontend

Check that the widget was added to the correct widget area and saved.

Also confirm the page you are viewing actually uses that widget area. For example, Activity Feed widgets only appear on the Activity Feed template.

The Activity Feed ad slot does not appear

Go to Appearance → Customize → Activity Feed Sidebar and confirm Show Ad Space is enabled.

Then go to Appearance → Widgets and confirm a widget has been added to Activity Feed Ad Slot.

The PWA Status widget does not display anything

Confirm the PWA feature is enabled. The PWA Status widget only outputs content when the PWA feature is active.

Elementor widgets are not available

Confirm Elementor is active, then edit the page with Elementor and look for the VH360 Theme widget category and the VideoHub360 widgets.

A sidebar is empty

Go to Appearance → Widgets and confirm that widget area has active widgets. Empty sidebars are not displayed on the frontend.
