Video Upload Storage and Processing
Video Upload Storage and Processing
VideoHub360 uses a shared upload system for supported Video, Lesson, and Activity Feed video uploads.
The selected provider is configured under VideoHub360 → Studio Settings as the Default video storage provider.
Supported Upload Types
The shared upload system can be used for:
- Video uploads
- Lesson uploads
- Activity Feed video uploads
- Production Studio replays
- Studio interactive-session replays
- Live Room replays
Each form keeps its own permissions, upload limits, and content workflow.
Default Video Storage Provider
Available providers can include:
- VideoPress
- Publitio
- Bunny Stream
- Local Media
Only one provider is selected as the default.
Provider credentials and connection settings are configured in Studio Settings.
Video and Lesson Uploads
Video and Lesson uploads are started from the frontend Add Video or Add Lesson form.
Requirements include:
- Permission to create videos
- File uploads enabled in Add Video Form settings
- An active Studio license for centralized provider uploads
- A supported file format
- A file within the configured upload limit
The upload must finish before the form can be submitted.
A completed transfer can remain in Processing while the provider prepares the video for playback.
Activity Feed Video Uploads
Activity Feed videos use the same provider system but remain Activity Feed content.
They continue to use:
- Activity Feed posting permissions
- Activity Feed media limits
- Activity Feed file restrictions
- Activity Feed post association
Uploading a video to the Activity Feed does not create a VideoHub360 Video or Lesson post.
External Video Sources
The shared upload system is not used for:
- Direct video URLs
- YouTube links
- Vimeo links
- Custom embed code
- Other externally hosted sources
These sources remain hosted by their original provider.
Upload States
Uploading
The file is being transferred.
Do not close the page or navigate away.
Processing
The upload finished, but the provider is still preparing the video.
The content cannot be considered ready until processing finishes.
Ready
The provider asset is ready and can be associated with the submitted content.
Failed
The upload or provider processing failed.
Use Retry when available or remove the failed upload and start again.
Cancelled
The current upload was stopped.
A cancelled asset is not attached to the final content.
Replacing an Upload
Remove or cancel the current upload before selecting a replacement file.
Do not submit the form while an older upload is still Uploading or Processing.
Provider Behavior
VideoPress
VideoPress can continue processing after the transfer finishes.
Wait for the Ready state before completing the content workflow.
Publitio
Publitio can use server relay or direct-browser upload when direct upload is configured.
Direct-browser upload sends the file from the browser to Publitio without routing the full file through WordPress hosting.
Bunny Stream
Bunny Stream can continue processing after the transfer finishes.
Playback is not ready until Bunny Stream completes processing.
Local Media
Local Media stores the file on the WordPress hosting environment.
Local Media is subject to:
- PHP upload limits
- Server disk space
- Hosting bandwidth
- Request timeouts
- Backup size
- Media delivery performance
Temporary and Abandoned Uploads
Uploads that are not attached to completed content remain temporary.
VideoHub360 can clean up abandoned or unassociated upload records and provider assets after the configured retention period.
Content Association
When the content form is successfully submitted, the ready provider asset is associated with the new Video, Lesson, or Activity Feed post.
Do not delete the provider asset manually after the content has been published.
Test the Upload System
- Confirm the default provider is configured and connected.
- Upload a short test Video.
- Confirm the status moves from Uploading to Processing to Ready.
- Submit the Video and test playback.
- Upload a test Lesson.
- Upload a test Activity Feed video.
- Confirm each item appears in the correct content area.
- Test a direct video URL and confirm it bypasses the upload provider.
Troubleshooting
The upload option does not appear
- Confirm uploads are enabled in Add Video Form settings.
- Confirm the account has permission to create videos.
- Confirm the Studio license is active.
The upload remains in Processing
Check the provider dashboard and the Studio provider diagnostics.
Processing can continue after the transfer reaches 100 percent.
The upload fails immediately
Confirm:
- The file format is allowed.
- The file is within the configured limit.
- Provider credentials are valid.
- The browser remains connected.
- The provider service is available.
A published video does not play
Confirm the provider asset reached Ready status and was not deleted or moved in the provider account.
An Activity Feed upload uses the wrong limits
Activity Feed uploads use Activity Feed media settings, not the Add Video Form upload limits.
