Comments and Replies
Comments and Replies Guide
The theme includes a styled comment and reply experience for supported content. Comments can appear on regular posts and supported custom content where comments are enabled.
Where Comments Appear
Comments are displayed on supported single content pages when comments are open for that item.
The current theme package includes comments on:
- Regular WordPress posts
- Community posts
- Galleries
Other content types may use separate interaction systems instead of standard WordPress comments.
How Visitors Comment
When comments are open, visitors can use the comment form at the bottom of the content.
If comments already exist, the page displays the comment count and the existing comment thread. If no comments exist yet, the page can show an empty state inviting the first comment.
How Replies Work
Supported comment threads include reply actions. When a visitor clicks Reply, an inline reply form opens under the selected comment.
Replies are shown as nested replies under the original comment. If a comment has replies, visitors can expand or view the replies from the thread.
Comment Navigation
If a page has many comments and WordPress comment pagination is enabled, the theme displays comment navigation for older and newer comments.
This uses the site’s normal WordPress discussion settings.
Managing Comments
Use the standard WordPress comment tools to moderate comments:
- Go to Comments in the WordPress dashboard.
- Approve, unapprove, reply, edit, spam, or trash comments as needed.
- Use Settings → Discussion to control global comment behavior.
Test Comments and Replies
- Open a supported post or gallery.
- Confirm comments are enabled for that item.
- Add a new comment.
- Reply to the comment.
- Confirm the reply appears below the original comment.
- Check the WordPress dashboard under Comments to confirm moderation tools work.
