Direct Messages
Direct Messages Guide
Open Message Settings
In the WordPress dashboard, go to VH360 Theme → Messages.
This screen controls direct message settings for the site.
Enable or Review Messaging
Use the Messages settings screen to review the available direct message options.
After changing settings, save the page and test messaging from the frontend.
Where Users Access Messages
Users access direct messages from the frontend areas provided by the theme, such as dashboard or user navigation links when those links are available.
You can add message-related links to menus from Appearance → Menus if they are available in your menu setup.
Send a Test Message
- Log in as one user.
- Open another user’s profile or the message area.
- Send a message.
- Log in as the recipient.
- Confirm the message appears.
Check Related Notifications
Direct messages can work alongside in-site notifications. After sending a test message, check whether the recipient sees a notification in the site notification area.
