Blog Posts and Archive Guide
The theme includes styled support for regular WordPress blog posts, blog archives, category archives, tag archives, and blog search/filter controls.
This guide covers regular WordPress blog posts. It does not cover videos, galleries, events, or bulletins.
Create a Blog Post
- Go to Posts → Add New.
- Add the post title and content.
- Add a featured image if desired.
- Assign categories and tags if needed.
- Publish the post.
Published posts can appear in the blog archive, category archives, tag archives, search results, and supported Elementor post widgets.
Blog Archive Page
The blog archive displays regular WordPress posts with a styled archive layout.
The archive can include:
- Blog header
- Search field
- Category filter
- Tag filter
- Sort options
- Post cards
- Pagination
Blog Archive Controls
The blog archive controls allow visitors to search, filter, and sort posts.
Available controls include:
- Search posts
- Category
- Tag
- Sort By
Sort options include newest first, oldest first, title A–Z, title Z–A, and most commented.
Category and Tag Archives
Category and tag archive pages use the blog archive system. These pages show posts assigned to the selected category or tag and include the same search/filter style.
Blog Header
The blog archive can display a header with a title and description. Category and tag archives use the selected category or tag name and description.
Blog Post Cards
Blog post cards can show information such as:
- Featured image
- Categories
- Post title
- Author
- Date
- Comment count
- Excerpt
Display Posts with Elementor
The theme includes a VH360 Posts Elementor widget when Elementor is active. Use it to place regular WordPress posts inside custom Elementor layouts.
Test the Blog Archive
- Publish at least one regular WordPress post.
- Assign a category and tag.
- Visit the blog/posts page.
- Use the search field.
- Test category and tag filters.
- Test the sort dropdown.
- Open the post and confirm comments/display behavior.
Troubleshooting
Posts do not appear on the blog archive
Confirm the posts are published and are regular WordPress posts.
Category or tag filters are missing
Confirm published posts are assigned to categories or tags. Empty categories or tags may not appear in the filter list.
Search does not find a post
Confirm the post is published and contains the searched word in the title or content.
Featured images are missing
Edit the post and set a featured image.
